First build for someone else! Jazz bass!

the future owner doesn't know it's being built ;-)

I'm pretty sure the bridge is mounted properly - what could be wrong?

Joel, I think what you're talking about is the angle created by the pickup lodged under the string - all I did was loosen up the strings a lot and then put the magnets under to check placement.. when tuned it plays fine.

I was actually talking about the 2nd pic in your first post - have a look, it's a fun illusion.

The bridge P would be a bit trebly this way - however, a reverse P could be more balanced.

Can you make a temporary rig above the strings that'd hold the pickup inverted at the position where you want it? That way you could wire it, move it around and see for yourself which bridge-P position would work best.

Done!

Probably a bit late at this point, and it's a bunch of work...but, wood pickup covers/cavity cover (maybe even knobs) would personally be the difference between, "Whoa. What? Mine?! What? Awesome!!" and "Honey, here's a plane ticket, so you can go see the Newfie. I need me a few weeks alone with this fine lady, here..."

Or "Dad! Mom's wicked pissed. Her feet were cold all night, since you slept on the couch with the bass again." "Okay, okay! Fine! I'll go get her a damn dog..."
