First cars?

My first car was a hand me down from my mom. I still have it and it's a total road warrior. Been on a ton of road trips in this thing. 128k and still running strong. The B205R engine + TD04 turbo = a bulletproof pair.

The first car I bought myself I still use quite a bit as well and is more comfortable than the car pictured above. Got it for 500 bucks from a guy in San Bruno who didn't really want to invest some time into it. All it needed was plugs, an oil change and a few other little things here and there. :hyper: Unknown mileage as the odometer doesn't want to work, but it doesn't seem to want to quit.

An 1980 Buick LeSabre. Just like this one, just a lil darker tan.

They called it "The Mothership" cause I used to crank Parliment all the time, and alllll my friends could fit in it lol. It was fixer upper, but I loved it. Got it for 200 bucks. Used a 2x4 to hold up the hood, had to add a quart of oil every other week, and had to park on level ground and cut off the car to see how much gas I had LOL. That baby floated though, and I still pulled chicks.

In 1968 my brother gave me his '58 VW Beetle. He told me that if I could start it, I could have it. . .

We lived in Ohio, so it was totally rusted out--the battery kept falling through a rust hole in the floor; the rear fenders flopped around because there was no metal left to screw them to, it was just rust on rust. I had to drive with the windows open in winter, because the heater sucked exhaust fumes into the car.

But I loved that car--it had "semaphore" turn signals and a fabric sun roof. No gas guage, just a lever to flip to bring the reserve tank on-line. It had a clock mounted in the middle of the horn button, that you had to wind up like an old watch. I put an AM radio that I found in someone's trash into it, mounted inside the glove box. Girls loved it!

I gave it to my dad when I went in the Navy, and he drove it for a few years, to keep his newer car off the road during the winter. It finally just turned into a pile of rust, I guess.

I'm 17 and my first car (I still drive it!) is/was a 1998 Ford F-350 Dually. http://www.customsales.net/130000_White_2004_Ford_F350_Crew_Cab_Dually_2x4_RR.JPG

It looks exactly like that, except the bed inside is black, and there is no trim, so the entire truck is white, and I don't have those things on the windows.

That is what me and my brother made when it snowed in vegas! YEA SNOW IN VEGAS!!! It happens once about every 7 years, and it was great.... IMO driving that truck in snow is scary when there are other cars, but on a big empty road, its a lot of fun.
Lookinf back I find it so hard to believe that a place like this can produce snow in 6 months... (it is still peaking well over 100 some days) WOW!

I'm happy to see all the '80s euro-car love.

My first car was a 1986 Audi 4000cs quattro. An all wheel drive sedan with an inline 5, 5 speed manual transmission, leather seats, sunroof, power locks and windows, and a decent sound system. Had to get rid of it because it wouldn't pass smog and I couldn't figure out why.
Me and a couple buddies would meet at this dirt lot outside of town and run makeshift rally courses. That Audi could haul like no other.
I wish i could've kept it and just run it into the ground.

1966 Pontiac LeMans. I bought it from a hardware salesman that my dad used to buy from for the tractor trailer shop we worked at. I paid $1.00 for it. Note: Not the actual car, but its the same (even the color).

My brother and his friend borrowed it and drowned the car in the ocean! They parked on the beach too close to the water and the tide came in. :eyebrow:
