I played with my band at the open mic last night. As I've said in other places I slap/pop on a few select songs - two of which we played last night. I decided I was going to make this bass work, just to make things interesting. It got a lot of interest from the folks there (no bass players only guitarists), the guy running the open mic introduced me as the guy who makes his own basses. It worked out great. On the songs where I would usually slap I just boosted the treble and dug in hard, sounded great. I'm going to try and mix up my playing more to incorporate the different basses I have, rather than favoring the latest one, which is my SOP.
