I don't see videos so I'm just gonna tell you my experience.
I just finished all levels with at least three stars in everything. It gets fast once you get to the metal songs but you just have to practice it slowly. Also make sure you have it set to show the note names instead of the fret numbers. That way, you actually learn.

I know this is an old thread, but how do you change the fret numbers to notes in the app? I'll be using Yousician for a while - my lesson budget is going towards violin right now.
Go into the settings. If you don't see it, go into a song and then check the settings.
Yousician for bass.
I like it. I use it to learn to read music. There's about 4 setting you can you. When song start pause it. To your left there's setting . 1 ) frett board while song plays bouncing ball with tabs. Very basic. I do not recommend this setting because there's a lot of other programs like songster or pro tabs that does this a lot cheaper.
Setting 2) tab with note name same as 1 in my opinion.
Setting 3) bouncing ball on frett board with note name only. This better because you can start learn notes on fretboard.
Setting 4) has 2 version. I like this best for the money your paying in my opinion. You have staff with notes and you follow staff , and play the notes, with rest and everything that goes with reading music. Makes you learn to read music and notes on your bass. Start to learn language of bass guitar. On you tube you see people using this with tabs which I think you can move along at fast pase but your not learning any thing. Well maybe your exercising your fingers. But not your Mind.
If your planning to use yousician. I would recommend using it to read music and learn staff reading. If you want to play games and do Tabs . Rock Smith would be better and cheaper . That my opinion. Everyone has there opinion. Just trying to help out . Hope this helps.

Yes, everyone has their opinion.
Rocksmith is great for keeping you motivated with the silly games & it gives you missions, but you're right it's all tablature.
If you're playing chords it will tell you the names of the chords you're playing, but for single notes it doesn't.
So, it's great for Motörhead songs, but they have only released two official MH songs.
Still think if you staff mode. No notes on bouncing ball. You get the most out this yousician. My opinion. You use you mind more and would be the hardest if you don't read music and want to learn to read the language of bass clef.
