Flats -darkest to brightest list

I think the best bet for anyone wanting to try flats but having concerns about the tension is to get a set in 95-40 gauge and try them, at this gauge i am very doubtful that anyone will have issues with high tension, tonally if you don't like the set you have chosen then at least you will have a frame of reference to go by when pinpointing what you don't like about the set and choosing a set you do like

One of the most important part of dealing with the added "stiffness" of some flats, besides the gauge selection, is the proper setup on the bass. Added stiffness means they can be setup with a lower action and a minimum amount of neck relief with no buzzing issues.

I've used both the La Bella 760FL (43-60-82-104) and the Fender 9050CL (45-60-80-105) with no stiffness issues.
