I noticed that if I don't play roundwounds anymore for more than 6 months, I cannot play rounds anymore! And when you go to a guitar shop, all basses play difficult. That is why I always keep one cheap bass set up with rounds, just to stay used to them. Does this sound familiar?

GHS Precision Flats are now my go-to. I have the 55-105 set on my G&L LB-100 and my Yamaha BB404F Fretless. My Epiphone Allen Woody gets Labella 49-109's only because GHS doesn't make the 55-105 gauge in short scale and I didn't want to use use 45-105's.

Sadowsky flats user here. Have them on all my basses except my Traveler, which wouldn't take them without the E string breaking so I put Chromes on it.

Sadowsky flats are the most amazing strings I've ever used. Everything about them is perfect to me. And they're the only strings I've ever bought that I loved the sound of right out of the package. I actually love every phase they go through in their life, from fresh to "dead" (they never really die). Each phase is just a different flavor of awesome. :D

Maybe I'll get back into rounds at some point (probably will be nickel), maybe for a certain bass that seems to call for them, but Sadowsky flats are definately my go-to.

Just put Chromes on my SR300 and really like the feel, tension, tone I'm getting out of them. Definitely a fuller, deeper thump coming through my monitor. Two screaming guitars and a loud drummer...these are giving me that low sonic presence I was after.

Big fan so far!

I don't think I've posted here yet (and confirmed by the search function).
DR Legends on my wishbass fretless 45-105, these babies are never coming off unless they break.

Currently I have D'addario Chromes (50-105) on my precision bass. I like them but after I took it in for a setup, the action was so low. Don't get me wrong, I love this low action, but now the strings feel way too loose on my right hand. If anyone has suggestions for similar guage strings but more stiffness or tension, that would be greatly appreciated. I am considering GHS precision flats or Rotosound rs77ld at the moment.

#9050 for me.

I have:
-Fender 9050L's on my Sterling SUB Ray4 and SX 32" Jazz Bass
-D'Addario tapes on my Ibanez AEB5E
-Light gauge Chromes for the E, A and D strings on my Telecaster guitar (The G, B and high E strings are D'Addario nickel wounds of the same gauge. I was inspired by the way classical guitars are strung)
-Thomastik-Infeld Classic S strings on my Samick Greg Bennett acoustic guitar

I think your chromes are going to be stiffer than your other string choices. If you want a little more perceived tension, jack your action up a bit.
