I just got some La Bella deep talkin flats that are 760FM's and I was wondering if those fit on most jazz basses (Lakland Skyline DJ)? If not I'll just use my D'addario chromes (50-105) this is my 2nd/3rd set of flats and I hope both sets have a bit more then the Fender Flats I used (those were fine).

Not to derail, but could you elaborate on your meaning with "heavier" sound. Deeper I am guessing, but how do the mids - highs compare.

Oh boy, I love his tone greatly - though I run flats (chromes) on a jazz. May try them anyway.
I thought Pino used TI Flats on his P-Bass, his signature model even comes strung with TI's because that's what he supposedly uses on it.
The red Pbass I believe sports the TI's. The sunburst I believe is his '63 Pbass which by what has been written in the past has heavy gauge Labella's on it that are tuned down. Here is a Youtube clip with him playing the sunburst. Sounds great. You can hear that's it's tuned down so it may be the Labellas.
ive tried two different sets of 760s on both of my p basses, and the e string is too long when strung through the bridge so i must string through the body, but ive been told this is not a good thing to do with flats. anyone else have this problem???
