I bought a lightly used 2003 MIM fretless jazz and it arrived with flatwounds that have red silk on both ends. They seem like light strings but have decent tension. What brand of strings could these be?

Probably TI flats.
Why you're asking???
Does it bother you or they sounded so well that you want to recommend to TBers here???
Cheers...
Perhaps the OP would like to purchase another set? I don't see how your post is relevant to anything either.
OP, it sounds like TI flats as previously mentioned. TI's are not "floppy" as some would lead you to believe, but they are not "high tension" feeling either. Roto's IME are pretty tight feeling while the TI's (my personal favorite flat) have what I refer to as a "chewy" feeling. Others on the board have called it "supple."

I'll take a better look at them for color. These are completely smooth on all the strings, unlike Rotos. I had a set of Rotosound Steve Harris flats and you could see and feel the gaps between the windings on the low strings. I'm also going to compare the strings size-wise to some other strings I've got, because I know TI's have weird gauges.Sounds very much like TI's, a dull grey, but shimmery when light hits them, apparencewise?
Roto's are very bright in colour, and you can kinda feel the winding on the low strings.
Kinda like the difference in colour between nickles and steels.

Is there anywhere that has a list or chart of manufacturers and what their silk colors are?
