Flea's new Modulus

That might not be a Lane Poor, though. Stock Modulus pickups have that little dent in their casing in a similar way as the LPs.

No disrespect but when you see that dot on a Bass pickup that would be and is a Lane Poor,It's LPs trade mark just like EMG,Bartolini etc. name/symbol branded on their pickup(it's part of marketing, product and symbol recognition).

It seems like he changes basses more frequently than he changes outfits. Hope he has a backup.

I have a Modulus Flea basslines pickup and it doesn't have anything that resembles the hologram on the Lane Poor.

Then here's a Lane Poor, totally different (except I couldn't get a Modulus LP....yet.).

Those are Lane Poors, Modulus had him put in the modulus logo rather than the 'LP' one.

Him being who? Lane? Do you mean that they had him do that a long time ago when Lane was producing, or is he producing again? Man, it would really be amazing if Lane started to produce again. I heard there was some kind of family and health issues that led to his demise. Does anyone know if Lane can be contacted or if he ever would make pickups again?

According to the recent BP, the "white" Jazz bass is actually shell pink, "the rarest of the Fender custom colors". Shell pink is a pale pink, and this one's faded. "It may in fact be the only shell pink '61 J in existence, and as such, this instrument would command wll over $35,000 on the vintage instrument market".

The kicker? It was a gift from high-powered business executive Zach Stevens, who had worked on the AOL-Time Warner merger. Flea had apparently "asked his fans in his online tour journal if anyone knew where he could get a pre-CBS Fender so he could be 'as cool as John Paul Jones' ", so Zach obliged.

I sort of know Lane, he lives near me. He is not, and I am pretty convinced that he would never, produce pickups again. All of his stuff is locked up in his old Fall River facility, so no more pickups.

I recall on a recent Fuse special, John's guitar tech was showing off the particular Jazz bass, and although it looks very much like white, he said it was 1 of only 2 made.

If I were Flea. I would'nt use that Jazz live in fear of something bad happening to it because it is so rare, and if something bad happens to it. He will never be able to get anything like ti again.

Basses are meant to be played, if the only way you would feel good playing would be playing a certain bass wouldnt u use it no matter how much you would have to look after it????

I don't think he's too concerned about it, considering that he put a large sticker on the front.
