Why haven´t I tried these before - Passione Stark 
I tried the mediums once and found them weak, I also tried the Stark G but that was right after Spiro mittel G. So it sounded a bit weak too. Now I put on a whole set after Flexocore deluxe and now I found it. The same noble and warm Pirastro arco sound as with FDs but the tension is just right for my bass now.
Ok FDs are brighter and a bit louder but Passione starks are bright and loud enough even for occasional hybrid use and they are even easier to bow than FDs. They have the great old school sound both arco and pizz but with a modern touch, clearness and comfortable feel. If you hope for a bit less tension on your bass with FDs you would maybe like these. I give them a fair chance now
