Floor Monitors

As long as the two of them wired together in parallel don't create a load less than your amplifier can handle, just link the two with speaker cables. From the amp to one of the 1/4" jacks, and then from the other 1/4" jack to the other monitor. Two loudspeakers, one amp channel, one mix.

I have a similar question which I hope doesn't come off as sounding too stupid. I'd rather ask it and not fry my PA head.

The PA Head is only rated 200 W at 4 ohms. I have two passive 15 inch two-way speakers that are 8 ohms each. Running the two of them in parallel off of the head is fine. I have two other smaller passive 10 inch speakers that are also 8 ohms each that I want to use as floor monitors. If I daisy chained the smaller speakers to the other two larger speakers that would be series so I would be bringing the ohms to 16 for each of the sets of the 15 with the 10 inch daisychained off the back right? So then the 15 inch speakers run parallel from the head in parallel would actually be running at 8 ins total? Is this right or am I about to start a fire?

Virtually all commercial audio loudspeakers that have multiple jacks (allowing them to be daisy-chained) have those jacks wired in parallel. If that PA head has only one speaker channel, wiring all four of those speakers together to it would present it with a 2 ohm load, and yes, you might end up with smoke.

If you try to run 4 eight ohm cabs you will have a 2 ohm load. Not good.

I’m still singing the praises of the "RCF ART312-A" powered boxes for monitors (I’m going to use them for mains, as well). The "310-A" (10” version) use neodymium magnets and super-light, and many people love those for monitors.

I think you can still get them for well-under $500 (a great value)...
