How funny... my flat mate happens to own a Roland SH-32. Might have to try it out!
That thing is awesome! Has to be one of the most underated pieces of synth equipment out there.

Check out the manual, there's a preview mode where you can listen to your sounds using the unit itself (not hooking up a controller) and a set of headphones. The step by step 'synth primer' in there is good to learn how all the sliders work if you don't know analog synth controls.

Really cool piece of equipment.
 
Now that we're on the topic of bass pedal units, and instead of opening a new thread (I have searched), let me ask- does anyone know what the difference is between the Roland PK-5 and the PK-5A? I notice on Sweetwater.com they have a PK-5A unit for $599, and a demo PK-5 for $100 less. If there's no real difference between the two, I'll take the demo PK-5 and save some bread.
