We got nailed in Naples. Eye came over us. It was cool walking around in the calm of the eye. 93% of our county is powerless. I lost palm trees, 1/3ish of our Lychee tree, parts of my fence, and my garage door is mangled. I'm wondering if I can use the Lychee wood for a build? We barely missed surge, so overall, I feel blessed.

I've been updating in the "Uninvited Guest" string.
All ok here in Sarasota, just north of University. No power or land lines still, but no damage to the house. Feeling fortunate.
Going out tomorrow seeing how far FPL is getting. do some exploring of what commercial areas are open. Seemed like a lot of stuff was lit up on 70 and 64.

On longboat key in a condo. We left and came back but were told it never went out.
Ours went out in North Palmetto/Parrish for about 12 hours. I've had to work the last two days at the hospital to get stuff back up and running so I haven't been able to clean up.
I live in SE Pennsylvania but have a home in Naples. As StuStu said Naples got nailed. We've been getting updates from our HOA President. According to Property Managers buildings fared OK structure wise but a lot of landscaping damage, trees down, and we lost a window in our condo. I'm guessing something hit it. We have a friend who is going there today to check inside. Probably some water damage in that room. At least we did not experience flooding in our area. Power is out as well.
Our friends who live upstairs are actually up here in Pennsy for a wedding. They're heading back Wednesday - maybe.

Yeah, we're good. I just need a day off from work to clean up and repair my soffits! My dad's neighborhood in Bradenton is without power after a neighbor's tree fell and cut the power line. My grandma lives across the street from him and is also without power, but from a different tree falling on the lines behind her house. Thankfully my cousin has two generators and is loaning them to my dad and grandma so their fridges should stay cold.
Yeah, feeling for all you West coast folks. My wife works for an FPL sister company, Nextera, in Juno beach. I know FPL isn't everyone's favorite but they bust their assess after a storm. In addition to linemen, a lot of desk jockeys have storm duty. A good friend of ours, with two young kids, from Boynton Is spending the next week in a hotel on the west coast to help with recovery. Lots of similar cases. Thankfully, my wife's storm role is local to us. Anyways, a lot of good people are putting in the effort so I'm hoping you West coast folks get back up and running soon.
Also, I'm just thankful that storm wasn't at full 185mph winds when it got to Florida.

Dang, I guess we had a LOT of refugees from the peninsula!! We have/had tons of shelters open: schools, churches, the Civic Center, etc.. Walmart had scores of people restocking shelves, and traffic was crazy today! I guess the return migration has begun! We even saw a sedan (no roof racks) w/about 5 gas cans tied to the roof!!!! Hope they don't turn into an IED! Y'all be safe and patient! We've twice bailed to shelter w/friends in Palm Coast for storms, and they bailed to stay with us in Oct. for Mathew. We understand.

No power, gas, ice, et cetera. It'll all be back. Yes, FPL will have us all up ASAP. When they talk about "infrastructure" I cringe. But hey, they'll be sparing no expense to make it happen. FPL are saying the West Coast will all be up and on by the 22nd. I sure hope that's the worst case scenario.

Yeah, goal for all of East Coast is to be back up by Sunday. Obviously, heavier damage on the other side. Playing HOB Orlando on Saturday and one band's singer is on this odyssey back from Tennessee. Said traffic is crazy and gas hard to come by.
We got an update from our HOA President this morning. She said that power is on in the next development over and says there's an FPL repair ticket for us that they're going to work on. Fingers crossed for power on today.
They're saying 22nd for the west coast but I'm sure that's taking into consideration restoring power down in the 10,000 islands area - Everglades City and Chokoloskee. They got hit really hard down there.

Our HOA President went up to Pensacola to avoid the storm in Naples.
They've got a Lowe's open now in Naples. They were letting people in 10 at a time yesterday to avoid a mad dash for the generators.
Hillsborough and Pinnellas should be back up by the end of Friday according to the news
No ETA from FPL for my dad's neighborhood. My friend's family business near there just got power today, but they didn't have any downed power lines.
We've been without power since midnight on Sunday. Power is slowly coming up around us but frankly there is not very many FPL trucks around. I'm sure the majority went to the harder hit areas on the west coast and in the Orlando area.
All in all we fared pretty well, had a section of fence go down, the AC took a dump about an hour before the power went out and I'll need to replace about 20-30 shingles. I took all my basses over to my brother in laws house yesterday to keep them in some AC rather than my house soaking up a bunch of humidity. We've spent the last 2 nights at my sister in laws place since she has power.
We got beat up pretty good by this thing over here in Brevard. Could have been far worse!

Naples area is finally getting some cell towers back on line. Collier County has power restored to 109K customers with 100K still out. Still no power in our development though. Only one gas station in our part of town is open.

Main Bedroom had a window fly open - it was tilted in so it seems like the lock gave out. Not broken though. According to our neighbors, seems like the direction of the wind was not blowing rain directly into the room though so that's a break. After things settle down a bit, maybe after this weekend, we're going to head down to take pictures and clean things up.
