Florida Bassists Club

I wish the best for your home here. Just know that we're still getting occasional rain. At least, we did last night in the Tampa Bay area.
Thanks Duder. All in all I think we fared better than I expected. I think we got a bit of rain in Naples last night as well but our neighbors were able to get the blown open window locked in place and hopefully the temp fix on the other window will be ok for now.
Trying to find a good glass repair company now.

Our power came back on Thursday evening here in Naples. There are still heavily populated areas without power. Gas seems to be readily available. I have yet to see ice in any grocery stores. After hurricane Wilma, I picked up ice at Publix every day. To me, the retailers have missed the mark with Irma. Granted, I understand some items are in high demand. Irma most certainly put millions more out of power than Wilma. But still....
Anyhow, I hope everybody's lives get back to normal ASAP.

Power in our development finally came back on Friday night. Then half the development went out on Saturday afternoon then everyone Saturday night. Came back on Sunday morning though. I figured they had to take some people off line to fix something else that was spread over a larger area.
Cell service seems to be good now. Good to hear gas is more available. Our neighbors upstairs heard that there was a convoy of gasoline tank trucks on the way from Georgia. They were just waiting for the power to get more stabilized before they could deliver product.
We're going to head down to survey damage in our place - hoping to do that in two weeks.

This morning we received more damage, but not from a storm. Some kid on his way to school took out my and my neighbor's mailboxes, haha. I only know it was a kid because he left notes at my house and my neighbors saying he was really sorry and will be paying for the damage and included his name and phone number. I'll check in with my neighbor later today to see if she has called him yet.

Moved to Clermont in 2013, got sidetracked into moving to Wichita, Ks for the better part of 3 years by the Day Job from '14 until this past summer, and just got back two months ago.

Man, I'd rather take what Irma dished out that have to duck and cover every other day when those blasted tornado sirens went off... Nerve-wracking as all get out!

Glad to be back!

Now I gotta find a band...

I found some folks online who make screens that will turn any 410HE into a vintage style cab.

Ugh - is it just me or is anyone else totally uninterested in the Olympics and sick of politically-based discussions of firearms at work or wherever? While the latter topic is important and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the recent tragedy, I'm tired of the news coverage and their spin on things. That said, I'm not trying to start another one here, that's for sure, but I do have a VERY important topic to discuss with my fellow TB Floridians.

Which is... does anyone know of someone local to them (preferably in the NE part of the state) that might have a Tone Hammer or something similar that they might trade for a MXR DI+ even up or maybe with a small amount of cash on my end?

My DI+ works fine, and I like it for use in my band. I only use the distortion side on a handful of songs; I also have an Ibanez Phat Hed pedal that has a finicky switch - but I like the mild OD I get out of it and am integrating it into some other songs (and am going to try and fix the switch). I have a Korg Pandora Stomp that I'm trading to a local gent who has a new-ish DI+ just like mine (but with the box, manual, etc.) so I'm only doing it to replace mine with the newer one and then I'll post mine locally to see if I can get something different to add to my signal chain.

I've been reading that the Tone Hammer has more of a mid-rangey sound to it vs. a scooped sound of something like a SansAmp (which a friend has and I've tried before). Scooped = bad; what are some other options? I also thought about a compressor; there was an older Trace Elliot dual-band down near Tampa on CL but it's gone. That would be handy for the worship context I play in when I want to venture into some slap but don't want to change any amp settings.

Thoughts?

Edit: I hope I'm not violating anything due to my non-supporting status - when I complete my local trade I may list it here & upgrade my membership to do so.

Another Bradenton/Sarasota deal: GK 400RB with an SWR 210 - $125 :jawdrop:

There always seems to be a ton of good stuff down there! Too bad that isn't local to me (Jax) or I'd be all over it.

Actually, I'm trying to find a 3u anvil rack that is 12" deep - got one now that is missing covers; also have a nice rack but it's only 9" deep. Let me know if you see something. And I'm contemplating ideas for a power amp solution; I don't really want to go with a heavy 2u amp but I just don't care for anything class D out there. I'd like to just stick with my B-1 - trying to fend off GAS and not sell it to get a GK Fusion 550.
