So, it turns out Mrs.Fingers is making a little bit of local history. She's the first in our area to test positive for both COVID and Flu B at the same time.

It also turns out that "flurona" is picking up steam. It's more prevalent in Africa right now. But more and more combined cases are showing up.

What "they" have yet to determine is whether or not it is simply a case of more and more people getting both at the same time, or it is a new virus that sets off both tests as a positive. It's likely the former. But it's happening more and more. And the jury is still out.

(By the way, yes, she's vaxed/boosted for both. She's doing fine....thanks for asking. She had a bad fever last night and sweat up the mattress in our guest room pretty bad when it broke. She got a shower a while ago and that drained her a little. She's currently sipping coffee and eating oranges in the bed. She's tired and achy, but otherwise great. No fever. No cough. More mild flu symptoms than COVID.)

Today is 65 degrees F around here. So all of the doors and windows with screens are open. The Fingers girls and I are all negative for both. We have no symptoms.

Looks like I scored a few days staycation! Nothing would make me happier than for last night to be the worst of it for her, and we all sit around the house for a few days catching our breath.

Fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc.

If you're reading this, you're probably aware that there's been some disagreement about COVID-related posts that get deleted by TB staff and others that are allowed to stay up (or simply missed). In an effort to simplify things, we're closing COVID pandemic-related threads and directing people to post in this one instead: Coronavirus discussion thread - NO POLITICS, or "POLITICS by PROXY".
Also, please see this post in that thread: Coronavirus discussion thread - NO POLITICS, or "POLITICS by PROXY". While we probably still won't have 100% agreement about what's okay to post, our hope is that this will still support discussion but be a bit easier to moderate.

Sorry about this and wishing you all a healthy 2022.

-Mike
