Hi, i'm graduating AIT on jan and found out that my duty station would be Hawaii, I own an epi thunderbird classic 4pro and I would like to fly it with me, would the epiphone hardcase survive the flight? Or should i just leave it and buy a new one?

I'd ship in insured. You'll have to check it to fly with it, so if you have to go that route, pack it to survive being thrown like a gorilla's plaything.

I need to figure out how to pack a hardcase then. I would go with insure it and check it in. Wanted to be a 35 series or 11b but due to some circumstances i ended up as a 92get some lmao.

They're all jobs that need doing! Thanks for stepping up. AS for packing, if you have a Guitar Center or similar shop nearby, they probably have a shipping box that'll fit your Bird. That way you can mark it with "FRAGILE!!!" on every surface. With the TBird case, the place of possible transit damage is the area of the neck and headstock that are in free space. Support that area as much as you can to see that it can't shift and get torqued.
I used to work for an agency that places people with developmental disabilities in jobs. My job was to teach them how to do the job, how not to get fired, and interface with the boss(es). One of those job sites was the San Diego Zoo, where my client worked in one of the restaurants. I got to know one of the head chefs there pretty well, so I asked him one day what lead him to that line of work. He said "Well, I always liked to cook, and I figured that if I became a chef, at least I wouldn't have to worry about being able to get something to eat." He was one of the coolest bosses on my whole case load (which was up to 24 at one point).

The problem is i will be carrying the case from fort lee to the airport (straight from ait to schofield) so i guess i won't be able to put it in a box. (I would assume i would have my 2duffle bags of issues with me too) so there goes just the case and the guitar itself on the check in baggage.

If i'm gonna get a new bass probably a fender cause they got tons of flight cases. But i would like my thunderbird with me, sort of sentimental value.
