I find you or maybe just your writing style highly irritating.
My post was not targeted at you but rather the jiber jaber that was going on as an afterthought to your discussion.
I leave it at that...![]()
I'm happy you chimed in to clear everything up!

I doubt you for a second but I'm just wondering how you spotted that?
1. Fodera NEVER did serial numbers that way;
2. The top wood is not even close to the grade of wood on Fodera tops;
3. The neck joint and associated laminations are all wrong;
4. The parts used (especially the bridge) are wrong;
5. The overall shape is slightly off;
AND
6. I am a partner at Fodera, have seen many, many Foderas AND (even more importantly), I showed the photos to Joey and Vinny!
Jason
I knew it's a fake (saw much better fodera copies in the past).
What did Vinny and Joe say about the fake bass?
I have been playing bass off/on (mostly off) for the past 30 years.
I'm mostly a guitarist who picked up the bass 6months ago for some serious R&B/Funk/Jazz playing in a group of talented players. I played straight bass back in the day for a 10 year stretch...but not too much since.
Quite a tall order...but I'm not a noob.
And I've been hitting the woodshed pretty hard of late.
I have 2 basses; a MusicMan StingRay 5, and a Fodera VW Sig. 4 Monarch with the Buckeye Burl top.
Dig them both VERY MUCH! I've also played some mighty fine basses at a few stores in Chicago this past summer...including F, MTD, Sadowsky, and Mike Lull.
All I can say at this point is...the better I get (and I feel so much more comfortable on the instrument now), the better the Fodera responds and sounds to me. And the easier it plays!
The StingRay is also superb...actually better bang for buck value than the Fodera, IMO.
BUT...the Monarch just has this feel and look and tone that I havent found anywhere else in a fretted 4.
It just feels and sounds RIGHT.
I'm so glad I've hung onto this bass...I bought it from Bass Central
5-6 years ago. I couldnt be happier.

This is a fake.
Jason
It's not a real Fodera, that's for sure, but it's not 100% a fake. I know who made that bass and there is no butterly or Fodera logo anywhere on it; the seller may be trying to pass it off as a Fodera but the luthier wasn't. The level of craftsmanship on that thing should be pretty good however by the way, as Vinny and Joey know the guy who made it, because he used to work for them.![]()
Wow...shameless!You mean this Fodera clone from SP Guitars Ukraine?

Wow...shameless!![]()
It does seem pretty shameless, but he's not your average cloner. I can see he's going to get s#@* poured from him on high by some people on this thread, without people knowing about his relatioship with the Fodera guys, and Vadim especially.
This situation is pretty black or white, either he has permission from Fodera to make clones of their body shapes and sell them under his name, or he doesn't. Legally there isn't, as far as I know, the recognition of trademarks based on body shape en masse (Rickenbacker being an exception), but if you put the legals to one side, he's either doing this with Fodera's permission or he isn't. If he isn't, and he used to work there, then this is even more shameless because he's really taking advantage in that case. Perhaps Jason (from Fodera) can clarify whether they have given their blessing to his cloning.It does seem pretty shameless, but he's not your average cloner. I don't know about whom you are talking "some people on this thread"... You can see here: 675 that the bass is advertised and classified as Fodera Emperor II. Just Thumpin' answered that the bass is fake. And his statement is true, because the bass is not a Fodera bass. Also I do not understand your words: "but it's not 100% a fake" in your post #675 ... the bass in advertisement is a Fodera or not not a Fodera...? I do not want to hurt anybody, and if my words caused mental or physical pain - sorry...
What I was trying to say is that THE LUTHIER himself DID NOT claim this bass to be a Fodera. The bass has NO Fodera logo or butterfly on it. It is THE SELLER who is claiming this bass to be a Fodera, and the seller who did not put up any headstock pics. It is definitely a clone, no doubt about that, but the guilt for passing it off as a Fodera lies with the seller, not the builder. That bass is for sale in Serbia, right?
