Fodera Club Part III

A while ago I had acquired David Beasley's first Beez Elite, which is the Imperial II. I then had the oppurtunity to acquire what he said was his 'matching' fretless to is, which I saw some pics up here kind of recently (very nice pics). I thought I'd show the two together, I did what I could to make the fretted happen, and I'd really like to hold on to both, we'll see. I'm sure you fellas know that Fodera's aren't something you can just splurge for whenever! That said, pretty landmark stuff here.

But what kind of tuning machines are installed on the fretless ? Never seen that before ...

Although if you decide to sell...I call dibs. I'll be expecting a call in that case.

Where can you actually buy the Willis style tuners?

that's 2 of the most beautiful basses I've had the chance to lay my eyes on.

I've spent a lot of time with both of those basses - they are great pieces. The Beezelite's are really cool basses - and Dave's personal basses were exceptional.

You are MAN. Actually Both have been my dream since the first time I ever saw them on web..:bawl:
And they are certainly wonderful Fodera I've ever seen.!

I certainly know fretless is thicker than fretted but I cannot certain if body area of fretless wider than that of fretted..Is it right?
And could you share detail spec of fretless with us? Anyway... Congratulations!!

I don't have any clips of them. Maybe I can get some sometime, we'll see.

specs on the fretless are:
Scale 36" 3 piece maple neck with slightly slimmer D profile
Madagascar kingwood board
Roller tuning machines custom made for me by bassist Gary Willis
Crotch walnut top and back
Custom wound Aero K pickup similar to one in fretted
Mahogany core purchased from a civil war era lumbar yard 11 years prior to my picking it out of Fodera's wood stash.

Havent posted a pick of serial #1 Emperor 6 lately...
Circa 1992 and the very first Emp 6 ever built.
The office couch is long gone.:rolleyes:

I remember playing the fretless at the shop as a reference for an order I was working on with David in 2002....amazing bass . I never thought David would sell either of them, still kind of shocked.
