hey . i just wanted to know the thoughts of the people here on the sound of the 32" or 33" scale length on the B string . Does scale length like 33 or 32" produce a great B string if the bass construction is impeccable ?

As for good 32"-33", just don't expect them to ring out like a 35" scale bass.

I've played several good 33" B strings, but I attack them much differently than I would a 35" scale. I attack a 34" different than I would a 35" from the same luthier.

My opinion, but I think the B strings are good but you will find that what they give is a little different. Different isn't always bad, it's just different.

But the ones u played which had a 33" scale length . Of course the tension would be less but how was the B string sound ?

Just got word the new bridge(s) for my model is about to be fabricated. They'll be my spacing, which is 17.5mm. Not that I'm that anal about 0.5mm. We just figured we'd do it the way I have my bass now, which is exactly 17.5mm. Gettin' more psyched by the minute!

The top is a very rare light redwood with sap in the center...
I am fairly certain that's just part of the figure in the wood although it does look like a crack...

I requested to have 16.5mm spacing on my coming Fodera 6 string bass.

Thanks fella's its been a long time coming I really wanted to find a unique top that was killer but not crazy over the top..I love all the wavy lines that run down the top on both sides...and Yes the fret board is a crazy piece of birds eye maple...

These will be the first "official" Fodera 17.5mm bridges that we are making. Usually for anything narrower than 18.5mm we use Hipshot bridges, so this is pretty exciting for us to be working on. Still waiting on final pricing and fabrication time, but Mike is well worth it!
