Thanks. I want the wood to have plenty of time to "settle in." The first thing I'm going to do is play it through my Aguilar DB750/GS410 rig, then immediately take more pictures of it so I don't violate the prime directive when I make my NBD post. I'm pretty danged excited.

Jason and Grasshopper have been extremely patient and helpful during my changes of heart, but it's exactly the way I envisioned it, thanks to them. And it's on time, too. Even a little ahead of time.

The Bass Club Chicago Anniversary NYC's (both in 4 and 5 string versions) are actually going into the spray booth (in Japan, where all NYC's are carved and sprayed) this week. They should be completed in another couple of weeks. They are a small run of NYC's that we collaborated with Mark on to celebrate BCC's 5th anniversary.

Although the picture on the website is of a Monarch, the specs are very similar...Holly Top on Ash bodies with Maple FB's and Black hardware...they are going to look and sound KILLER!

Thanks so much. We are still very much a work in progress. Things are much, much, much better here now than when I became a partner 8 months ago, but we still have tons of work to do. It is utterly amazing to me (and in retrospect, to Vinny and Joey too) how the instruments were as amazing as they have been (prior to our partnership) when Vinny and Joey literally had to do everything from carving to answering the phone to sweeping the shop...everything!

Thank goodness they are incredibly hard workers and stubborn (in a good way) or they probably would have given up long, long ago...

The past three weeks it has often been well over 100 degrees in the shop every day and we have all been pulling really long hours to prepare for the couple of vacations that are coming up next month. The work here is very often NOT glamorous in any way, but we all feel really lucky to be part of it!

Looks like Jason needs major props for turning their operation around.

Does anyone about the pick-up placement on Garrison model? Is it 60's or 70's Position?

It has been quite some time since we finished your bass, but my memory of it is VERY positive. I remember it as having a great, percussive low-end and I remember LOVING soling it on the bridge pup...wish that I could be more descriptive but again, it's been quite some time!

My memory is that Matt's spacing is neither...it is kind of like a combination of the two...I will check with Joey later this morning and post an update if my memory is not correct.

Addition to Post: My memory was correct...Matt's pup spacing is a hybrid of 1960's and 1970's. Joey and Vinny jokingly call it "1969 spacing."

Please do a search on "Fodera NYC" for a much more in-depth explanation but, briefly...

1. Wood for the NYC's is selected here in Brooklyn and then shipped to Japan;
2. Woodworking, initial fretting and spraying are done in a small shop (3 guys) in Japan that we have been working with for over 15 years. When we first started working with the shop, two of the luthiers came and worked here in Brooklyn with Joey and Vinny for 3-6 months;
3. The bodies and necks are shipped back to the us in Brooklyn where every one of them undergoes final fretwork, electronics and parts installation and final set-up;
4. Every NYC is personally worked on by me, Joey and/or Vinny;
5. They are built in small batches of 6-12 instruments at a time;
6. They are NOT factory / mass produced.
