Yes and no. Remember when I first got on "the scene" here and I had like three of them at once, while living at home with my parents? Yeah, I had a good job and zero expenses. Times are good right? So I moved out a long time ago and don't play that much right now. Which brings me too...

Remember all those people saying I wasn't "good enough" to buy that sort of thing? That it was foolish to spend that much on gear or what not? I pretty much agree with those guys. You know what I have right now? An Ibanez six string.

Man, all that Fodera stuff started up when I was like...22! You realize I turn 30 next month? :D I'd still get a Fodera, and maybe will again some day down the line, but I want to do way more with my music first. The young and stupid never realize they are the young and stupid.

Wow. You've been around here a long time. I just got my first (and probably only) Fodera at 62. I can't justify any of my basses by my playing, and I don't apologize for it. Well, maybe the Roscoe Beck. I think Brian with the Mar Dels has one of your old basses ... a nice buckeye burl top he got from John DiMaggio. You'll be back.

Like every Fodera, Sounds amazing. Unlike some Foderas, looks not fancy. But I love its classic beauty.
Also, I'm cosidering upgrading preamp (to updated Pope) and changing PUs (from emg to duncan or aero PJ).

Cleaning my baby, I just found that the date when it was manufactured was carved under the bridge.

Monarch Elite 4 (January,7,2002)
Alder Body, Curly Maple
Kingwood or Pau ffero Fingerboard
(Jason told me that it seems Pau ffero from photo; they did not keep a record of the FB material on that bass; But it has a VERY similar color and grain to my prior bass that was Kingwood.. It seems that I should visit Fodera in person if I want to know what it is;) )

Yep, I was actually in the store when he bought it. Does he still play it? That bass was pretty sweet, and the top was still one of the best buckeye tops I've yet to see.

In all seriousness, this is the Birthday Cake that was presented to Mike at his surprise party this past weekend. Happy Birthday to one of the finest bassists out there, a great friend and wonderful human being!

I was there; coolest cake ever and a great party! Note the signature messy string ends at the tuner and the detachable upper fingerboard. Mike ate the butterfly...

Nice bass!

The first time I saw Eucalyptus was a few years ago at the Fodera booth. Here's a shot of a slightly younger Hadrien checking it out.

Just wondering...
Is the body on a monarch(for example) the same size on a 34 " scale bass as it is on a 35" or a 36" and on a 4 string as it is on a 5 or six?
Or do the body size change with the neck measures/scale ?
I would guess that the body changes with the rest of the dimensions but am not sure...:)
