I'm not sure how the triple plus sounds, but it's the among the nicest basses I've ever seen with three pickups. It really "works" on that bass, visually.

I disagree regarding the pups, I agree regarding everything else.. .

lower the pick up away from the strings, also Carey Nordstrand told me that contact core strings will make the situation worse as well

sorry to sidetrack the thread a little but what is a contact core string?

I'm wondering whether maple "burl" fingerboard is a typo. Otherwise, do you use maple burl for fingerboard as well as Top?

Got this today from Mik. This is probably my 6 or 7th Fodera. This is easily the best. Single coils are definitely the way to go for me on Fodera's. I owned one once with singles that sounded great but had a mahogany body and so wasn't quite full enough for me. This one has no bad sounds in it and plays like a Fodera. I don't mind the look of the ramp but it's got to go, gets in the way. Otherwise, very pleased.

You should see it with the ramp installed, Jonno took a couple of shots last Friday with me holding the bass up, but I guess he's too busy to post them.... and the tone... WoWWW aaa

all these raves about the single coil tone on this bass, where's the beef?

Single coils vs. dual coils: I find the duals to be a little blurry, compressed, and soft sounding, whereas singles tend to be more focused, punchy and open sounding. I like both but for the tone I go for the singles do it best.
