i have all of the above three items but not on the same bass. walnut /ash, brazilian rosewood/mahog, beechwood/walnut, sycamore/walnut. they are all made between 1983 and 1987.
Did anyone else see the AJ doublecut that someone's selling in the classifieds? Beautiful bass. Does Fodera still offer that shape?

okay, i thought i saw your 6-string on the fodera site. what are the woods on it? is it dual truss rod?

This was a custom order through Martin Music. Sometimes when we get orders like this unfortunately we do not get to meet the end customer and learn from them what they are after with a given spec...this is one of those instances.

I've never liked the look of a bass with 3 pick ups but this one is exceptional, I do wonder what it sounds like.

Among ~15 Foderas I own and owned in the past there was one Emperor Elite 5 with 3 Duncan Dual Coils.
Although killer looking and a dream to play it was soundwise the least impressing one for me. Don't know why and whether it resulted from the 3rd pickup, from the additional routes or whatever ... but the bass tended to be slightly less open than all of the other configs, and the attack was always slightly compressed.
Sometimes I had the impression that it could not be tuned correctly - the higher I went on the fretboard the more I felt there are overtones which shouldn't be there... even if my tuner shew correct settings everywhere. But those overtones may result from the cab config or room acoustics or whatever...

It's because of the extra string pull from the magnets of the third pickup. Not really a great idea with three dual coil pickups.
im having similar problems with a 68' jazz pickup, there are overtones all over the E string once you get past the 8th fret, not sure what to do with it to be honest, anyone got any suggestions?
lower the pick up away from the strings, also Carey Nordstrand told me that contact core strings will make the situation worse as well
I'm not sure how the triple plus sounds, but it's the among the nicest basses I've ever seen with three pickups. It really "works" on that bass, visually.
