Another big down side I didn't see mentioned yet is that a 2x2 FLAT headstock would require a string tree on the A and D strings. String trees are pretty commonly accepted on 4 in a line layouts on the D and G because of the Fender precedent, but I think it would look really wierd on a Fodera-shaped headstock right in the middle. I dunno....

I say leave well enough alone, personally.

I'm in favor of your opinion. I really don't like that font for the same reason. I think that "different" shape with "the same" butterfly shows its identity VERY WELL. Using the traditional Fodera headstock on them would devalue not only custom line but also NYC. This is because, the same headstock would make NYC look like just only cheaper or clone version of Fodera.
If I were you, I would keep the shape and remove that font.
AND..... please change the angle of butterfly on NYC, which seems better than the same headstock.(IMO)

Changing the angle is definitely NOT a good idea!! I wanted to change the angle to be similar to that of custom basses. I just removed font and change the angle with a photo-shop (program) to show you what I want exactly. No font was good. But the changed angle was quite different from what I expected. Also, it look like a rocket in harmony with upturned shape of NYC headstock. It seemed that butterfly flew up to the sky and vanished as if by magic... :bawl:

I don't see anything wrong with the Hipshot- it adjust more quickly than Fodera's bridge. Or maybe that's just sour grapes because I have to use one because I like my spacing substantially narrower still! :)

I just dig it because it's Fodera and goes with the bass. Looks cool, too!

What spacing are you going with?
