Hello to all ppl in fodera club... sadly i don't own one of those.... but hope one day... (sei basses are AWESOME anyways...)

Just wanted to share...

Have seen jame genus live... yesterday night with herbie hancock...

Great tone... awesome sounding (i think it was an EMPEROR) bass...

I'm even more looking forward to maybe own one... some days...

cheers!!

I must admit... considering the work of "just thumpin..." if one day I have the cash... I wouldn't hesitate at ALL ... to go for it... and go thru the ordering process.. :)

What's the spaicing of Tom Kennedys?

He seems to use a standard 19.0mm bridge.

+1 I've played this bass (since Tommy is an old St. Louis guy like me). The body is downsized a bit from the standard II, and of course, the neck pickup is pushed back ala Ken Smith (sort of), and it is a really lightweight one. String spacing is the 'regular' Fodera 19mm.

James Genus is on John Beasley's album called "Positootly" (w/ Jeff "Tain" Watts, Bennie Maupin and Brian Lynch) which is up for a Grammy! I've only listened to a little bit of the album, but from what I've heard of it it is very cool.

i've owned:
1 imperial 5
1 monarch 4
1 emperor elite 5
3 bolt on emperor 5
1 emperor deluxe 5

all time favorite Fodera would be an emperor deluxe 5 w/21 fets

This is fascinating to me. All are beautiful and have their own unique features, so I find it interesting when people prefer one over others. :) Why do you prefer the emperor over the others? And deluxe vs. elite - is there that much of a difference in tone?

I just installed the Fodera bridge on my bass this morning. I had some Allparts thing on there or something. Anyway, what a HUGE difference it made. More responsive, better sustain, more even, wider frequency response. I'm pretty blown away. I'm glad to have the actual Fodera design in the narrow 17.5mm spacing finally.
