I've always wanted to ask. Is there a particular reason you chose the darker wood (ebony? katalox?) for the fretboard extension as opposed to maple like the rest of it? And is the area under the pickguard still routed out so you can move the pups around or was that only on the last bass? Either way it looks awesome.
Bosendoerfer pianos. Some have extra keys below the bottom "A" and they are an inverse color scheme. The white notes are black, and the black notes are white. So I went with light wood/dark dots, then dark wood/light dots. No REAL reason. I just though it would be cool.
I still have the huge gaping hole in the bass, but the PUPs have stayed in the 60's J position for 5 years or so now.
