Fodera Club Part VII

Which rigs du you use with your Fodera? Back in the days alot of Fodera players used Walter Woods and Epifani cabs!

Maybe post a picture of the rig :)

Funny - the "rig" I use most is a Radial J48 direct to the board, and the PA cabs are JBL PRX612Ms. Sounds great, but it's in a (semi-) acoustic trio. I don't play it in my classic rock band but, if I did, it would be through my Shuttle 9.0 and AE212 or AE410. I play it through that rig in my practice room, and it sounds fantastic.

Loud to quiet -
Acoustic Image Focus 600 watts into two Bergantino 12" s
Acoustic Image Focus 600 watts into two GK Microbass 12" ext cabs ( when I don´t need highs!)
Same but one cab.
Markbass Mini CMD 121 (sometimes with Berg ext cab.)
Phil Jone Briefcase
Markbass Minimark
I live in Mexico where the acoustics are very live - not much wood or carpet ! Also the humidity fattens the bass sound. I need about a third of the power that I need in a dry northern climate!

That would be great, even though the tone he gets out of that vintage Fender is pretty killin!

You could give Victor a Walmart special and he would sound great. It's what you've got in the fingers. Mind you, that beat up Jazz does sound pretty hot.

Deon Estus is another tasty bass player who at one point had a nice collection of 60's Vintage Jazz basses.

Deon is a good friend of mine, and a really a great musician all around. Every time I talk with him he's working on new material / studio tracks....just waiting for him to make a come back! Nice to see his name pop up every now and again...

Small world, eh?. Next time you chat with Deon, mention I still love listening to his bass lines from Club Tropicana.

Like Wham or not, Deon nailed the bass chair for the band. He seems to be a great guy having watched the Basschat video.

Hou--what are your impressions of your new Fodera now that you've had it awhile, in comparison to your tulip Emperor 4?

Curious how you find the wood combinations/pickups differences.

Our graphite neck NYC's were an experiment. You will note that we are not making them anymore. Actually, we are not using graphite in any of our instruments anymore...

Yup. I noticed that there aren't any on the site.
Was it just a taste thing or were there any technical problems with them (if you are at liberty to share this info, of course).
When was the bass at station music made(aprx)?

I do not know when that bass was made...Joey would know, but I will not see him until Tuesday...

There was nothing technically wrong with them at all. The necks were INCREDIBLY stable. But in Joey and Vinny's opinion, they sounded inferior to wood. Since I have never heard one, I cannot really give much more insight than that...
