A question to those that have had the chance to try both,the monarch and the emperor side by side;
How would you describe how they balance when sitting down and on the strap, one as compared with the other,
Of course I#d be comparing instruments with the same scale length, number of strings and weight.

I've owned both. I don't really think there is much of a difference in terms of what you stated. Vinnie is an artist, and I don't think I could say any one Fodera style "feels" or balances better than any other. They are all equally superb. Just go with the one you like the appearance of the most.

I think that they DO feel fairly different. Not from a balance or comfort standpoint, but the Monarch is definitely a smaller, more compact feeling instrument than the Emperor. I am a Monarch guy...

me too!

Vinny, Joey & Jason #8 just showed up at my office. Great job. Really nice bass. plays great and sounds great without an amp. Not that i ever doubted that. Now i can leave one of my oldies but goodies home where they are safe and sound from grungy bars/people....

The bass pictured is the bass of Patrick Andy...a very talented NY-area player and he plays with a hair band so we left it on the bass when we took the photos.

Used correctly, a hair band can dampen open string resonance somewhat...that's the idea behind it.

Yes, I was wondering because I saw him with this Bass and knew that it was his one. Maybe I just got that idea that I may become for sale because of the two Preowned ones ;)
