Also, unless you are prone to "gunking up" your FB, you generally will not need the Steel Wool very often. By way of example, I oil my unfinished FB's every 3-6 months (when changing strings) and use Steel Wool less than once a year...but I am not prone to gunk and have the pleasure of distributing my playing time amongst a bunch of Foderas...

hah . . . well, i like gunk (or, as i call it, character) . . . i clean very, very infrequently.

and yes, joey's instructions were for a rosewood fingerboard.

LOL...the top on the mystery bass that Matt is playing is not Maple, it is Box Elder Burl. Beautiful material..

I was asking myself the same question since I saw some pics of Matthew playing that new mystery Bass.

We will take deposits in January starting at the announcement and expect to ship the first 15 starting June 1, 2012...generally we will only release a batch of Standards when we are prepared to deliver them in roughly 6-9 months.

Isn't the idea of the "Standard" models at Fodera that there are absolutely no options and they're all the same (or the way Fodera chooses to build them at their convenience)? In return we get better pricing ...

Sorry, you guys are all wrong. It will be a bolt-on neck-through dovetail design with eboroseferro fingerboard. The body will be ashalder with walmaple wings and a mahogany tail. It will have 5 strings at the headstock but only a 4-string bridge. It will be an active 14 band preamp with onboard graphic eq. It doesn't have traditional magnetic pickups but rather embeds two cellphones that use their gps radios to transmit vibration data based on location.

They've been busy. Or I haven't had my coffee yet. Take your pick...

I guess you right, but still many E-C players prefer a tighter string spacing.

Nothing. But the neck with 17.5 mm spacing is more narrow that a 19 mm neck. My Emperor is 17.5 mm and I prefer that

I would think that "standard" applies to whatever model they are building/standardizing rather than an arbitrary spec.

That is exactly the idea...no options, we choose the specs and build them in batches and pass the cost savings along to the customer...
