Got a chance to take some photos toady before winter truly sets in. ( low 20's so not exactly a nice day)

Here is a family photo of the full house Monarchs flanked by emporers.

Walnut bass in the middle is #21 and the Brazilian Rosewood bass next to it is #34.

i like my YYS but freaking everytime i whip it out everyone asks to play it can i see it etc... and its a huge *** I cant believe he has a fodera bass.....

I dont like the attention it gives me

Hmm. Not my experience. Personally I find only the very occasional bass player in the audience can recognize a Fodera and if they do - they know better than to ask to play it! :D

So far in a couple dozen gigs I've had one bass player recognize it but I've had multiple people complement the tone. Friday night at Hard Rock Cafe there was a singer who came up and had butterflies on her vest. I pointed to my headstock and told her that we matched.

As for people playing it...umm...sorry, no. Only if I know them really well. My old Zon Lightwave fretless used to get a lot of oohs and ahhs. But a 5-string unlined fretless helped to keep people from asking to play it :D

Yes I did, the reason that I go for narrower spacing is because of chord playing on 6 string bass, I got a small hands, though I can do them on a 19mm spacing bass, 16.5mm definitely helps.

Also, for this 6 string, I actually want a compact instrument, so 6 string with 5 string sized body + 16.5mm spacing is the main way to make this instrument look compact...:smug:

funny story.

i'm playing this gig at a county fair somewhere in cali.

band before us is a country band. guy is playing a mexi-fender of some sort.

he wants to talk shop (and i kinda figure he's a fender snob), asks me what i play. i tell him it's an "off brand"--a fodera.

he looks at me condescendingly and says, with a shake of his head, "oh well." and leaves.

They look great man. I really love #21.. similar back to mine 5 piece neck, body etc. My plastic cavity cover is a bit darker. Wonderful collection. :-)
