Fodera Club Part X

The main driver for that price, it seems to me, is the neck-through construction. Best to think of it as an Elite Standard.

Pretty but not for me. For that money I'd lay into a custom Monarch 4 bolt on.

FYI - Since the MG5S is what I really wanted, I am going to be giving up my place in line for an ES5, serial #2. If you are interested in taking it over, please PM me. I am only asking that I receive the deposit ($1,000) amount for this. You will also be responsible for the balance ($4,750) when the bass is ready in April. Jason will handle the order switch.

First PM saying "I'll take it" gets it.

I haven't been a great burl fan in the past but this Box Elder burl sure look beautiful.... I could imagine to put a top like this on my Imperial :)

Angled. It is the same as a custom shop build (neck through, 3-piece neck, angled headstock, custom shop preamp) except for no options and built in small batches. Hence the higher price than the other standards, but lower than a regular Matt Garrison.

Truth be told my bias would be for chestnut top and ebony fingerboard but since I just over-splurged for the YYD and Monarch I need to be a little more budget conscious :D

Thanks for getting a nice shot of my new inbound (top pic)

Now for YOUR basses - one of which in bottom pic -... There's no way you got this close to your new bass without playing it. First thoughts on the YYD?

Sick. I always try to hold off posting impressions until I get it in a mix though (no, the DJ booth next to Fodera doesn't count as a "mix"). I'll do some tracks with it Sunday night (compare directly to the YYS with new strings and the Monarch), have rehearsal Monday then 4 gigs over the weekend. The neck joint is pure sex though...

Finally got to play the YYS today at NAMM and have a nice chat with Jason. I was very impressed with the bass...great neck, very versatile electronics and and overall sexy feel.

I have never been a fan of EMG pickups, but the P/J set paired with the Pope pre really works. The bass had a really organic sound and like I have read, really begs to be slapped around a little! This one is high on my list.

I was not there to see the MG Standard, but the single cut shape is not really my thing. The pics that I have seen look great. Good luck to all who will be getting one, I'm sure they will be killer!

Thanks, Jason!

Same here was as I was eying that NAMM MG Signature model (what a beauty). Lucky for me that I waited until the announcement and I'm glad that the MG Signature got sold.
