Couple more pics. The bass is almost a year old now. Great for playing jazz with.

Robin --I recently came across your review of your Imperial 2 with the Ash top. One of the most helpful reviews I've seen visually as well as sonically. I really liked how you demonstrated the different tones that could be dialed in. I like how you said "it's the sound I've had in my head for the past ten years and now that I have it in my hands I'm sure of it". Well done!!

Thanks Robin. This bass took me a few years to finish pondering on the tone woods. Although, it made things easier after I bought the first Fodera. Just love the all passive natural tone. I would love to see your Imp2!

So wait A plek machine basically sets up your guitar by a computer?

What exactly does it do? Shave frets and anything related to setup?

Sound like they are expensive...

Looks like a glimpse of the future when eventually machines will do everything

All a Plek Machine does is to perform an incredibly accurate fret job (i.e. makes certain that all of the frets are ground to the proper height and shape uniformly across the entire fingerboard). It does not do anything related to set-up and it does not replace the need to know what a great fret job is or how to do one. It simply performs the task in a more consistent and accurate manner than even the very best people can...

There is no way here at Fodera that machines can or will ever be used to do everything...or even a meaningful fraction of everything that is important about one of our instruments what they are...

Hi Tim, thanks for posting a picture with the bass strapped on, It gives me a better perspective of the more compact body size. If I remember rightly you asked for your ramp to have radius and be the same length as the pick-ups, correct? So without making this request, what would a normal MG ramp look like? Also, do you know if your bass was Plek'd

I have an Imp Elite fless - 36" 5er - pics are on another machine. I'll try to remember to post in a couple days.

Oh, BTW, it is the most badass fretless (and I have 18 or so high-end) it takes up so much sonic space you HAVE to pull it back - live or recorded.:hyper:

For the request I made, I just wanna make sure the ramp look exactly like what you see in pic, if not, I just worry they will work out something like in the attached pic.

Im excited for the plek... Congrats J. I just ordered my new fodera from the bass club last month.
Ebony top ash body, birdseye fb, ebony blocks, 33 inch scale emg jazz pups, 5 piece maple neck w ebony stringers. Super excited. This will be my 4th fodera. First i am having custom built. Still waiting on a production slot, but being patient.
