Mitch, I forgot how cool your bass was. Is it a 34"? I remember Beez flipping over your bass.
Joel, its a 35". But it has the small frets and a bit of a smaller/ sleeker neck profile with a narrower nut width. Easier to play than most of my 34"ers.
Beez put it into a special category when we plugged it in that day....
-Northern ash
-One piece thin top
-Downsized EMP II body
-Dummy coils ( Aero) that go humcancelling and single
-21 frets- great slapper too
Has a pure fundamental and note/pitch focus on the B and the other strings that I've seldom heard.
It will probebly be willed to my heirs lol.

but the Empire / NYC series were already existing for some years when the Lauricella basses / prototypes showed up ...?!
Just curious, and if you don't mind me asking,.... Why have you decided to release this beauty?

With my current job, this bass is simply not getting the play it deserves. It is absolutely phenomenal in every way. I'm not one to go through lots of basses, and this Monarch made me sell my trusted Koa Imperial 6 (That I played for 8 years) in a heartbeat. It is really special, and has the best tone and playability of any Fodera I've ever had. The low B is amazing, and I was coming from 35" scale previously. This bass is flawless - impeccable build - and I want it to be used more than I have time for these days. I'd be more than happy to answer any other questions, and I will offer a 48 hour inspection period for any potential buyer if they cover shipping both ways. Thanks for all the interest I've been receiving...wow!
OMG, you sold your Koa6? That bass is just flat out "Crazy."
I've never seen a Koa top as beautiful as that and doubt I ever will.

If I may ask if this bass is so phenomenal like you say why don't you keep it for times where you have more time to play it again ??? I'm also loving my Emperor from the first moment that I've played it but there're times where other basses get more love - sth. like you/we all know - and after a while you play it again.....
I really hope that you don't replace your Fodera with this crappy W. basses

Compared with single coil mode, how is the high end extension with the dummy coil switched on?

The Pau Ferro board really completes the look aesthetically, and from the clips I've heard of Matt G playing one, sounds punchy. I Betcha she'll be a keeper!

I'm #4. Only thing I'm wondering is body width - looks like the MGS body is a bit narrower than a Monarch, though it might be the way the top is shaped.
