Beautiful bass Robin! I especially dig the mahogany tone block. Joel your bass is gorgeous too. strange thing with buckeye I think it either looks beautiful or hideous. There have been some like the Emperor 2 owned by Nick Bass that is beautiful IMO. But others I that I see on the Newborn section not so much .But that's mother nature for you.

I'm definitely on the fence. I would only do it for a comparable instrument. Certainly not in a rush though so I can be pretty selective.

Funny you should say that; the reason I have pics of my new bass is because I needed them to add it to my instrument insurance policy, which is through Merz Huber via the International Society of Double Bassists. If you play DB, that's a good route.
Otherwise I know there are instrument specific policies out there through specialty companies. Get ready for some stick shock, though.

I got a good Professional Musician policy for my basses and gear through Allstate. The house and cars are with them so it was an easy deal and reasonable.
