I actually had to hand the bass off to Joey during set up. If I played it any longer I was going to buy Fodera #13...and my wife would have killed me!

That bass sounds absolutely amazing! I've watched a ton of youtube reviews before, but that's the first time my jaw just dropped. Great playing and I'm sure they recorded it better than most youtube posters, but daaaaaayum.

It's just so rich and even, no matter what the settings were.

I have to agree...that clip is amazing, and the bass is utterly STUPENDOUS! It is no surprise that the player says that that bass is the finest, both in appearance and sound, that he has ever played. Doesn't hurt that the recording was so well done, either. But the details on that bass...chestnut tone block and chestnut cap on the back of the headstock, 11 piece neck, etc....WOW!

If I remember correctly, alder has a similar tone. I'm sure Jason will confirm or correct me on this.

The Tone Block is more of a "spice" than a main ingredient when it comes to the overall sound of one of our Elite instruments. Alder is what we have used since we no longer had access to high quality Chestnut...

In....MGS5 #9. Jumped into the Fodera pool for the first time with the MGS.i don't know when I'll say I'm scratching the surface of this "standard" instrument. So glad I jumped into the Fodera pool at the least.

Jason, can you speak about Vic's use of the emg jvx pickups in his yin yang? Do you offer them as an option, have you put them in any other bass besides Vic's?

Thanks J, and such a wonderful spice too.
Not that I'm gassing for another bass already :0) but I can see why it almost made number 13 in the Thumpin stable.

BTW Fodera No 73, just added to the newborns this week is real beaut. The early body shape & extended upper horn look perfect. So the early Haz pre in combi with the single coils edge it into the modern vibe? Love the fact it has Vol+Vol, I've always favoured that option over the blend pot and It's in great condition.
Is this it's first return to shop since '84?

Jason, I just watched the original Victor Wooten instructional video for the first time in years. I forgot how much I loved the sound of his original Monarch. It made me wonder, have you guys ever done a five string version of that identical spec? I'm not sure if there's a similar five string EMG PJ set available though...

I finally took a good Pic of my baby E5S. This bass is sweet, awesome sound and look. I made it a little more versatile by changing the Mid Pod to a Stack Hi Mid and Low Mid Pod.
