If you ask them to set it up a certain way they will. For example, one of the switches can be a mute switch, or a frequency selector. I asked for mine to be a mid-select. If you don't state a preference, I'm not sure if they have a "standard" setting, or if they pick frequencies that will work well with your wood choice.

Certainly within the variable parameters inherent to the preamp. One switch is convertable between mid-shift and mute, and there are numerous options on center frequencies for the low, mid, and high EQ. Here's a link to the [This invalid link has been removed], which are user-changeable. I've switched a couple of the center frequencies on mine and converted the mute switch to a mid-shift switch.

Now, whether there are any "double-secret options" available, I don't know.

Not unless the customer has specifically asked us to do so. But we certainly would / do if requested! Standard set-up for the switches is that one is a mid-selector and the other other is active / passive. Prior to early 2011 we set up the switches as mute and active/passive.

I might order my next Fodera from Ultimate as they are fairly close to me. Seem like great folks.

I just booked a NY March Break vacation and I am excited that I am going to the Fodera shop to discuss a Monarch 5er... And meet the folks.:hyper:

Also, my Emperor 5 Standard ships next week.

Is only Monday, but great week so far!:bassist:

One tech question to the 36" owners: I own an Imperial 6 with 24 frets and 36" scale. Just wanted to tighten the truss rod a bit and I found that the truss rod screw sits about 1-2 inches deep in the pocket - about just below the first fret - not flush with the brass nut... Never seen that before on a Fodera.

I'm wondering whether this is usual. Anyone else who owns such a model and can tell me how that truss rod is configured ? I'm afraid - If my truss rod has been replaced once ago with a wrong, shorter one - tightening it might result in some damage...

Cool. I have yet to hear a bad thing about ANY of the standard Series.

I was going to order a Emperor custom last year, but the price was prohibitive for me. When I realized the E5S was exactly what I wanted in a custom except for nice to haves like 35" scale and set neck, I pulled the trigger.

Joey and I were nuts about your bass. I know I really shouldn't say that about something that I was part of bringing into the world, but we made several changes to the production model (compared with the prototype) and we just really liked the way it came together. We went back to traditional "70's" PUP spacing, but we are using 60's wound PUP's. Play it in good health!!!

The rectangular nut of the truss rod should be set to sit directly under the brass nut at the end of the FB. The truss rod should NOT be all the way in the neck as far as it can go...

I feel that it's the perfect time for a guitar line. Since Vinny is a guitar player I'm sure that it always has been a wish for him to have also a line of beautiful guitars....:)

Will it also be available in different body shapes since Vinny lately also built some guitars with the Monarch shape ... ?

I would love to see a guitar with the new Hybrid body ...somehow like a Jazz Guitar :cool: :bassist:

The first ones that we are showing will be the Imperial Guitar. But, yes, down the road (or even for order now) will be other shapes, including the Monarch.

We are also planning some fun things for our bass playing friends that turn us on to their guitar playing buddies! Let's just say that we plan on making it worth your whiles to talk with your guitarists into becoming part of the Fodera Family...
