It would be awesome if somebody can post all the jumpers settings. Or we can just put our ideas and settings, and then see how many we got.
Moodys 4inch, I have one with the suede backing. After suffering a number of injuries to my shoulders, I had to find something that was extra comfortable.
The only drawback is that after gigs where the lighting was intense and you've sweat profusely, the suede will soak it all up and it takes a day to dry naturally. So my next strap will be a Moodys with leather backing..Big thanks to Donovan Bankhead, it was his youtube vid that sold me on the product..
I use 4 inch suede backed Moody straps. Once you go to a moody you stop asking or caring about bass weight. Getting those reverse pegs installed into them was a chore though as they are very fat - but I got it done with a little effort.

+1. There is no weight issue. The strap seems to absorb any weight evenly across the shoulder. I could stand and play for hours and not feel a thing afterwards. Yeah, it takes some work to get those pegs into the leather, but they won't be going anywhere once they're in..

I have a walnut 5 string Carvin that isn't light and the strap makes a huge difference.
That's what I originally thought but the standard necks have pau ferro fretboards, this one is rosewood.

That's lows fixed low, mid switch, active/passive switch.
FWIW, I have the pot set to the "p" setting, lows set low, mid switchable between low and medium, and highs set low.
I'm pretty set on that except I haven't tried the highs set to high yet and would like to, as thats what Mike Pope said he does. I use that knob least though and am looking for the best option to boost it a touch for slap settings.
I really like the low mids for fattening the sound and the middle mids for cutting. Really great in my cover band where I am getting all kinds of different sounds and using pick, fingers, and slap and different effects.
Any chance you could post some sound/video examples? I love the way my pope pre is set currently, but its always fun to hear the other options!
I just switched my jumper to the "hat" settings and it is killing! Nice to have the full bass but be able to bring in some middle midrange for a little cut.
One correction to my previous post- I was gonna try moving the High jumper, and actually realized it's not there, so I've been running the highs on "high". No extra jumper so I can't try the low setting yet.

Sounds the Moody strap is a winner. Having a bad back, I think is the strap I need.

See if you can try any 4inch before you buy. If you like to move the strap/bass up and down a little over the shoulder then go for a leather back, as it will move easy over most materials, if you like the strap to stay put, then it's the suede back.
Walnut top and rosewood fretboard then. But it still has the Standard's control layout and one-piece neck.
I have both Levy and Moody (4"). Frankly, I use the Levy more often as I find it more comfortable. Maybe I haven't beat up the Moody enough (it is stiffer - mine is leather backed) but the Levy 4" padded leather is really good and a lot less money. ymmv.
I also have a bad back and a few heavier than I would like basses.
This is what I now use and it is the best money I have ever spent on an accessory.
Since getting it my back feels better, a 4 hour gig feels the same as a 30 minute gig, and it is extremely comfortable.
Yes, it is EXPENSIVE but worth every penny imho.

i was just about to say that i'm not sure a strap would necessarily help one's back--particularly lower back; shoulders and neck, probably.
Any pictures of that?
Also, what's going on with the preamp in that new bass of Will's? On the newborn page it says that bass has the standard Pope preamp and Emperor standard layout but I only see four knobs. Is it passive or is it one of the older NYC two band preamps? Or could it be the new Pope three band but without a knob for one of the bands (mid maybe, which would be strange considering his signature Sadowsky is the only Sadowsky with a mid control). Interesting...
