Also, what's going on with the preamp in that new bass of Will's? On the newborn page it says that bass has the standard Pope preamp and Emperor standard layout but I only see four knobs. Is it passive or is it one of the older NYC two band preamps? Or could it be the new Pope three band but without a knob for one of the bands (mid maybe, which would be strange considering his signature Sadowsky is the only Sadowsky with a mid control). No pics, this was over 15 years ago. I don't even have the VHS tapes anymore ! I'd love to see it but I doubt even Fodera has pics of it. Beautiful bass though, and it sounded great in Uncle Will's hands.

This isn't the one I'm talking about, but it is another Fodera Will owned. I've seen him in NYC with another one too, but I forget the specs.

I have been using Moody 4" straps since 6-7 years ago and now I own four. But I have to agree with you. While the first one was jaw-dropping comfortable (made in around 2005), every new strap later was a bit more disappointing than the previous. I bet their quality control is not as good as they used to be, which is unacceptable given the price tag.:hmm:

I would love to give Levy's a try after reading your opinions about them.

So, yesterday Joey and I were playing Monarch Standard #2 and we both loved the tone so much that it tipped me decisively into the Ash body column for my upcoming build. Yes, Brazilian is subtly different than Pau Ferro, but the overall theme of Ash with a warming influence on the FB really sounds fantastic to me, so, final specs are...

Ash Body / Chestnut Tone Block
5-piece Maple Neck
Brazilian FB
Crotch Walnut Top (non-solid)
J/J Single coils in Walnut Covers

Hardware color will be selected once the bass is built.

I can say with authority that My Olive 6 is one of the best sounding basses I have ever played and your new build shares some of the same spec's. It's going to be one killer Monarch. :hyper:

That's a lot like mine outside of the TB- mine is the mahogany to get some more mids. I'm sure you'll love it!
