I noticed the body is thicker on this bass.

I can see that bass being used with a bow, Victor does play cello.

I attended the Janek Gwizdala master class last night at the Aguilar artist loft. The evening was split between performance and Q&A.

The performance:
Janek was playing with Mike Stern on guitar, and Cliff Almond on drums. The playing was of course killer, and Janek's Fodera (with Aguilar pickups, running through an Aguilar rig) sounded huge, warm and clear.

The Q&A:
This was the meat of the clinic. Janek answered a variety of questions on soloing, improvising and playing within a group context. Despite the awesome playing tips, my favorite part was getting to hear Janek, Mike, and Cliff talk about maintaining honesty, integrity, and JOY in music.

Fodera brought an Emperor Standard 5, an Emperor Standard 6, and a Monarch Standard Fretless 4... The fretless was killer, but the Standard 6 blew me away! I'm a 4 string player, but the neck and feel on the Standard 6 is off the charts. Also, the Fodera crew were super friendly.

Overall, a great vibe/hang... here's a picture of the action!

yeah it looks like Victor's going single cut....

I can't keep track of Victor's basses. In the liner notes of "Palmystery" I noticed he's playing a yin yang imperial 5.

Yes, I believe he said it was borrowed for the photo shoot.

I had a customer order an exact copy of that bass. It was a work of art. AW's 6 string Buckeye Yin Yang is equally impressive.
