I'm a big fan of the Seymour Duncans and really do not care for the DCBs. I've yet to hear an example of a bass that swapped from SDs to DCBs and not think it sounded worse. :\ But I might be in the minority.
The Imperial II has the same access as the MG. I think that perception may be comparing a 33" to 34", where the difference in scale length means there is a little bit of decreased access to the highest frets as the length shortens.
I'd be wary about asking for extra cutaway. I had requested that on one, they agreed to do it, and then it arrived without it and with a different workaround that was not great.
Agreed about the 33" B, too- my 2 33" and 34" Foderas all have great Bs.
Thank you for your input- it's really appreciated. I think that I my just shoot them an email to check about the cutaway- no harm in just asking, I guess.
