With the Yin Yang, do you notice any tonal difference when you're playing on the ebony as opposed to the maple? Just curious. I have a Victor Wooten Classic with dual coils (and no tulip inlays).

I have two Monarch 4-strings. One has an ebony board and the other has a Madagascar Kingwood board. I find the ebony board a bit more punchy and percussive with more bell-like highs (less warm in the highs than the Kingwood).

Does anyone know the story on the new 'Essence' series basses on the Fodera website. Very little info, but it looks like some sort of attempt to provide a 'top of the line' Fodera without the huge price and 3 year wait.

Not sure though...... just curious.

I don't know Ken... But I will probably be getting one, assuming that the lead-time is not 2 years.

I put a deposit down on this yesterday, it should be home with me in a couple of months.

I think they're Aero pickups, the pre has been changed to a schack circuit, but the guy still has the original Pope, so I'm going to ask for that to be put back in.

It sounded great.

I actually got to see Matt Garrison play last night, with Scott Kinsey and Heracio Hernandez.....what can I say, an amazing player.

Here´s the first pic of my long awaited Koa/Ash Emperor 5-string bolt-on.
A hard month wait to go or so. 24 frets, rosewood board, SD DC, 70´s spacing, EQ switch instead of on/off switch:bassist::hyper::hyper:

It is going to be beautiful. BTW, prepare yourself for a 2-3 month wait, then if you get the bass sooner you will be pleasantly surprised. You cannot rush perfection! My Yin Yang was "2-3 weeks away" from being done for 2 months. As soon as I plugged in and played for the first time, that wait seemed like nothing! Vinny and Joey make the finest basses in the world IMHO...enjoy!

Well you pessimistic guys:hmm:, I just talked to Fodera and they told me 30th of June for my bass to ship. Only time will tell...:hyper::bassist::D

The Bass Vault is a really fun website run by Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey. They actually have over 45 minutes of video inside the Fodera Factory (broken out into two parts) that are excellent viewing for Fodera lovers. The videos start with an image of Joey and under the image is the caption..."Joey has two favorite phrases, "It's almost ready" and "Almost, it's ready." I hope your June 30 day sticks. But with a "firm" date like that you can be certain that you will have it by the end of July...not bad all things considered.
