Better arrive late than never.

Here I am with Vinnie & Joey at the Fodera shop receiving the bass of my life.

Honestly, the only thing stopping me from selling my car for a Fodera is because my parents sure as hell wouldn't let me and the fact that i'd be trying to live up to an instrument i don't deserve... yet :D

By the way, i never see seymour-duncan dual coil pickups mentioned anywhere beside Fodera basses. Is there any other way to get these pups?

Here's my 1986 Monarch 4-string. Zebrawood over Ash. Original Hazlab pre with Bart P/J pups. Plays and sounds like a dream. I found this on here three months back from a fellow TB'er. Serial of low 200's # puts her in early 1986.

Wow, that is easily one of the nicest Fodera basses I have ever seen. Very cool to see Barts in it!

My 1992 Anthony Jackson Contrabass...

Also, a beautiful bass you have there Brad! I've always been much more of a fan of the look of the singlecut Contrabasses as opposed to the singlecut models.

Imperial Matt Garrison 6 string elite

Buckeye Burl Top
Walnut with Maple Heel Block
Ebony Fingerboard
34" scale
Maple Neck
Extended B headstock
Seymour duncan Vintage Dual Coils
Pope 18 v preamp

Excellent taste in a bass right there. If I ordered a Fodera it would have the exact same specs, by the way your buckeye burl top is beautiful. Congrats!

On a similar note, does anyone know when the first Fodera 6 string bass was manufacured. Also, how often were they being built in the early 90's?

Hi Steve,
when I bought my 4 string monarch in '83, Vinnie and Joey brought over a 6 string "anthony Jackson" model for me to check out as well. I only wish I could have bought that one as well. :-( But that being said, I would imagine that was one of the earliest 6's

Those early Fodera Contrabass guitars are like mythical items to me! :D if only I could see one in person!

It was awesome. Back then almost no one was playing them except Anthony. It was huge in comparison to my
64' p bass and the 4 string Monarch. I scared me just holding it.. I have an original 1983 Fodera brouchure framed in my music room. My bass and I believe the 6 that I tried out are pictured. There is also a Fodera guitar in the pic.
:-) I'll see if I can take a digital pic and upload, if you think anyone would be interested
