I belong to the club again I have a fodera monarch 4 wooten classic

theses pictures are from the previous owner and he put the fat finger just to try it on the bass, but the neck and the fret work are so perfect that he told me that it was useless on this bass, and he waqs right, this is the best neck I ever played on a 4 string bass.

here is my baby (and believe me, she helps me a lot because it's less hard to wait for my imperial)

sweet looking bass! any way of recording clips? id love to hear how the duncan duals sound through the new pre. i just sent my broken pre to mike on saturday to get repaired. i just couldnt justify the price of the upgrade, but im interested in how different it sounds

My schedule is really crazed over the next 2 weeks...I will try after that time. What I will say is since I have 2 Monarchs that both have Walnut bodies, ebony boards and Duncan Dual Coils, I can describe pretty well the differences in sound. The only differences between the 2 basses are the top woods (Buckeye in this one and Purpleheart/Pau Amarillo for the other -- its a Yin Yang) and the preamps -- the Yin Yang having the old Pope/Fodera and this new bass having the new Pope/Fodera.

The most noticeable difference is in the dynamics of the low-end. The amount of clarity and punch in the deep lows just seems off the charts better -- not a small difference but rather a significant improvement in the way the low frequency information gets transmitted clearly to your rig.

The other major difference is in the overall sense of airiness and space to the sound -- to a certain extent it sounds like a blanket has been removed from covering your amp...in a lot of ways, it is the same difference between the improvements made by upgrading from the original Hazlab Pre to the first Pope/Fodera.

Other nice improvements (but of less significance) are...

1. The pan pot functions much more gradually as you select between the two pups.
2. The tone pots appear to work more gradually as well.
3. The noise floor has been significantly lowered...this bass is almost dead silent while the older Pope/Fodera pre had a touch more noise in its signal.

Hope that this helps!!

Just Thumpin', you have one of the nicest Fodera's around. That says a lot considering all Fodera's are gorgeous.

Thanks. I know that I am biased because Vinny, Joey and Vadim built this beauty for me and built it how I wanted it (so my personal ideas about a beautiful bass are kind of incorporated into the design), but I have seen a lot of Foderas and this one is just off the charts gorgeous...it really is one of nicer ones I have seen.

Also, a big thanks to Martha in the shop because right after I started the order and explained what kind of Buckeye I was looking for (I sent an email with examples), Martha just hit the nail on the head when she picked this top...I didn't even ask to see a second, I was just like, "That's it...let's do it!"
