I think they're only available in Foderas and basses involved with Fodera
Mike sells preamps direct to consumers and luthier's. I had a wonderful 4 band Pope pre, with dual mid bands, each with two switchable frequencies in my Stambaugh. VERY nice pre, although quite pricey (they really are handmade by Mike).
I've had the honor of a few email discussions with him, and he is TOTALLY cool to work with regarding voicing the pre to what you are looking for, etc.

Ditto. I always say I wouldn't dare play a Fodera; I'd be afraid to discover they're actually worth it, which would be a bad thing for me.![]()

+1. I already made the jump from cheap basses to $1000 Fenders to $2000 Sadowskys. Realizing that what I really "need" is a $8000 Fodera isn't something I want to try to explain to the wife! Also, playing a few times a month for $100 and a few beers makes justifying one even more difficult.![]()
