Fodera Needed for Victor Wooten Tonight! Help!!

I thought Vic made a post here once about how he carried-on his bass in a Mono bag. Are they not allowing that now and making him check it a luggage?
Just curious, and giving another angle to discuss while bumping you to the top.
Good Luck....and somebody over there......shoot a video of the results!!

Hope he gets what he needs.
But as others have said, he would be fine on ANY bass of quality.

If I was in his shoes, the first call I would make would be to Fodera to see if a dealer or something has "his" model in stock. And being that Fodera's are pretty much rare birds (or butterflies if you prefer) a owner of one near by.

I would also think that the Victor Wooten sig is pretty popular (in Fodera circles) because as many of the 4 strings I have seen, have usually been a VW sig.
Plus, owners a pretty tight knit group and they usually know who has what in a given area.

I think he'll be fine. He doesn't NEED a Fodera, but why not, as others have mentioned, get as close to what you have. It's worth at least asking right?

If I were endorsed by (insert brand name here) and my personal/custom basses came up missing I would love to find a similar made/same brand bass to play for the show. Could Vic kill on a Squier? Absolutely, that's not the point though.

I guess what stands out the most to me here is that a partner in a big time boutique company is TAKING CARE of his endorsing artist. Didn't we just read a thread about Steve Bailey leaving Fender because they didn't treat him or his signature bass with any respect?

After reading this thread I have come to two conclusions:

1. People are jealous.
2. Fodera is a great company that takes care of their players.

vic plays fodera. he likes to play fodera. alot of us haven't owned our main bass for 27 years. that's a long time to get used to how something plays and reacts to you. good luck in getting him one. if not, he's a pro and he'll tear it up on what he can get.

Now this, I don't particularly agree with. I've seen plenty of big name guys play basses that weren't their signature model or even the same brand in front of massive crowds. It also promotes the idea that Fodera NEEDS him to play their basses. I'm sure he's helped sales and stuff but I'm also sure that they want him to do what HE wants to do, be that playing a Fodera or playing a stick super glued to a washtub strung with 4 rubberbands. I'm sure that since this message is here it's because, Victor himself, wants a Fodera. Not because Fodera wants Victor to have one.

Bump for Victor!

If anyone were in need of a bass and I could help I would. A friend had most of his instruments stolen and the first thing I did was call and offer any one of my basses for him to use.

We are musicians, let's help a guy out.

If Geddy Lee lost his bass and he had a show, Fender gives him an Hohfer Beetles bass and tells him here take this you can play whatever anyway. I know theres a lot of fenders out there but this is what we have now and whatever the crowd wont care.
How does that make fender look?
