Fodera Needed for Victor Wooten Tonight! Help!!

like someone mentioned before fodera has basses sold that wont even be built for the next 2 years. Im sure they can survive without Victor and vica versa. Vic can play whatever he wants and survive.
The fact is Hes been playing his bass for decades and hes comfortable with it. Because he loves it so much they have a binding contract (endorsement) together to help each other out. They are just going out of their way to help him get what he wants. His basses were misplaced and he just asked for replacements. Talkbass is a community of bass enthusiasts and we have a pretty tight knit family here. Alot of folks here know youre in the DC area/plus college and you also got a new brubaker.
Maybe someone needed one around here and asked to see if they can borrow one for a show and hey someone here knows that you fit the bill. I think it was just the company trying to help.

This is a good way to keep bumping this thread! Hope vic finds someone for tonight. :ninja:

It's funny because it's true :D. If Vic gets a Fodera through TalkBass I think everyone owes NordyFan an apology, lol!

I think that it is GREAT that Fodera is trying to get a bass for one of their artists. I hope that they would do this, not only for Vic, but for all their endorsed artists. It is a far cry from their previous management that still owes me $125 for partial sponsorship of a masterclass that I performed at the Bass Collective over 10 years ago.

For those who don't know, Vics relationship with Fodera goes back long before he was an icon - actually even before he was famous

I can't believe that there is even a discussion about this (even if it is one person).

Any company who would go to these lengths to make sure that someone who they have a working relationship is comfortable at a show is totally amazing.

Also, I don't recall anyone saying that Victor would be cancelling the show if he could not get a Fodera. And I also don't think its unreasonable for a PROFESSIONAL (meaning someone who makes a living playing bass and not just some guy in a cover band) to first want to attempt replacing his instrument with something that would be the most similar. That's not just unreasonable its just down right LOGICAL.

Most surreal thread derail of the year.

Who is anyone here to judge a fellow bassist and human being, and to debate the motives of a bass manufacturer for god-knows-what moral and professional crimes based on assumptions that are based on exactly zero facts.

Shame.

Something tells me that some of the hubbub would have been avoided if the original request had used the word "wanted" instead of "needed". No one needs a specific brand of bass to play a gig. I suspect even Michael Manring could wow us on a Squier, though he'd probably wear out the tuning machines in one set.

Cheers to Wooten, who's a magnificent bass player, and to Fodera, brilliant bass-makers. I hope he finds a Fodera, enjoys the adventure of acquiring it (and playing in such a cool location), and has a great gig.

Not becuase you're able to get everything you need out of them.
You posted that you HATE your bass. (P/J if I recall) and were looking for a "Fodera" type single-cut about $1000USD.

So get off "I only play $100USD basses" holier than tho train and be a bit real.
It's cool that you play what you play. But you have made it clear that you want to ditch your bass for something else.

Lets just cut to the chase people, Fodera are trying to help out a customer, this is not a bad thing...

Hope there is a happy result in all of this and the original poster fills us in on the outcome...

A simple "good luck and have a free bump" will suffice to keep this thread on top
