Fodera Needed for Victor Wooten Tonight! Help!!

You're really comparing Fender to Fodera? Seriously
? You think that because of this "binding contract" Fodera would axe Vic because an airline lost his bass, lol? I'm absolutely positive that this has more to do with Vic wanting a bass that he's comfortable with rather than him going crazy to abide by a contract.
I have no doubt that Vic could go on stage with a washtub, a broomstick and a piece of string and make it sound awesome. That said, he has an endorsement deal with Fodera, so it could be a legal issue if he doesn't have at least ONE Fodera up there to play. It isn't necessarily about what Vic NEEDS to play, as much as what he needs to stay out of endorsement hot water. It could also be that Vic simply wants a bass somewhat like his own, so he can give the show his best shot without his usual arsenal. No hate on Vic or Fodera either way...

It doesn't matter where you're skill level is at, if you are not comfortable, you will not play as well as you can. Simple as that.

He could play anything he wants and not effect an endorsement deal not to mention that this is a case of the basses being missing not Vic deciding to play something different.
Again, I seriously doubt that Fodera would really do anything that constitutes as putting Vic in "hot water" seeing as this situation was totally out of his hands.

I know that, its just same situation examples. It doesnt matter if its a $100.00 bass company or a $10k bass company. Theyre just doing what they think is best for their customer. Vics been playing his same bass for decades and im sure thats why he wants a fodera. I'm just arguing that theyre doing their best to make sure he plays a Fodera. Period.
If you owned a company yourself you would want your customers using your products, not someone elses. Good customer service comes out because there are hidden agendas. They want to make a living. I'm not bashing companies for having good customer service but do you still think MTD or sadowsky would have a great company without that good customer service? Even though customers may be at wrong sometimes they have to suck it up and give them the correct service because it is their means of life.

I had the pleasure of seeing Victor Wooten twice in concert- once with his brothers and another time with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Both times I stayed after the concert as I was hanging with a couple of friends and both times ushers were trying to get people to leave. Both times, Victor was very pleasant, staying behind, signing autographs and answering questions to any fan who wanted to meet him.
In my limited experience, he's a real nice guy, and I hope he gets an appropriate replacement, if not his original instruments. As for Fodera: Excellent customer service!

With a $3k + price to get you in the door ans a nearly 2 year wait time, I don't think Fodera is concerned about loss of revenue from Vic playing a single show on another bass.
This just sounds liek a company doing their best to take care of their clients. From a company with Fodera's reputation I would expect nothing less.
Could it just be as simple as Vic lost his bass, contacted Fodera and asked if they could do anything to help him out, then they came here asking for help because it would be an easy fix. When you play a bass you love, that's all you wanna play. This thread points out both the great things about tb and the bad.
Ah, cool. I just got the vibe from the original post that you thought this was all about business. I think I just misread it.
@Nordyfan - all of your comments, are REALLY more about you, your mindset and your lack of experience as a player and your lack of a balanced thought process. This can be attributed to either your age, or the fact that you never leave your bedroom or garage to play gigs... which is it?
@at Nordyfan... that presupposes that you have "an argument"... stand in front of a mirror and argue with your self, it would spare the rest of us, and you might find what you are seeking.

Try to be a teensy bit more empathic. I know that if I don't have my Clement or Fender in hand (or a bass really close to either) I probably won't have as much fun, wouldn't you say the same? Lucky for Vic, he's in a position where he might be able to remedy that. Sure it's a little odd but he can do that, lol.

No, you'd want to have every last detail down to how you always play it. You'd want it how you usually do it, down to the setup. That way you can nail it just like in practice/at previous gigs.
For instance. I play a Stingray. If I lost it before a gig, I'd look for another Stingray because it's what I've been playing my material on for the past year. Anything else would be at least a little awkward and at most completely unmanageable. Regardless of what I ended up playing though, I'd play to the best of my ability and still simply be happy about the fact that I got to share my tunes with people willing to listen.
