On another note has anyone ever played one of these? Just curious to how the quality and playability is? I have to admit not a bad price lol. I have 3 real Foderas at a cost of $14,400 each! Makes you wonder just how much does it actually cost to make a real Fodera? How much cost is actually in each instrument if China can make a fake and sell it for under $600 and still make profit? Not complaining.....just makes me ponder.

I told the drummer but I'm not telling the bass player. Especially one who swears up and down it's real. That will be quite offensive. Hey my Fodera is real and yours is not! Doesn't sound good at all!

I think he needs to know, if for no other reason that if he ever were to try to sell it, he could be in quite a bit of legal trouble by selling it as an actual Fodera.

As long as he’s happy with what he’s got and it sounds good for the music he’s playing, I’d say best just let it go.

On the other hand, seeing some knockoff outfit blatantly copying some other company’s logo is another thing entirely. That bugs me to no end.
This.
And that some cats are going to try his bass and say "Fodera's - I played one and they're not worth the hype!"

The drummer calling out the bassist's fake Fodera, the bassist using tape to cover the butterfly because he is seeking an endorsement, which of these two statements is more amusing?

Not sure if the drummer was so much calling out the bassist's fake Fodera as opposed to him telling me that the bassist in his group plays the same brand bass as me. He mentioned that it was his favorite high-end bass. I mentioned that I never saw him playing one and that's when the drummer scrolled through his phone and showed me the pics. I thought that it was fake but wasn't really for sure because it was far away so I asked the drummer to send me close up pics at their next rehearsal and here we are.

That is common for musicians seeking endorsement to cover over the logo of the gear they are playing. But my thoughts are why cover only part of it? Everyone knows what that butterfly represents just as much as everyone recognizes what the Golden Arches from McDonald's are when they see them.
