Fodera

You can use any bass for any style of music, but the aesthetics may not fit the "vibe" of the band you are in. Generally Fodera gets used by the jazz / fusion crowd, but thats not to say that they can't be rocked by just about anyone in any type of music. There isn't really a "Fodera" tone as the basses tones can vary with the body style, wood choice, pickups used etc. The most "famous" Fodera's, the wooten monarch and the AJ Presentation sound distinctly different from the more common (Emporers, Imperials etc) because of the different electronics (EMGs in the Wooten and no preamp in teh AJ).

it depends of the model.
the monarch wooten classic is a beast for funk and fusion.
My imperial is great for any kind of music but it sounds really good on jazz fusion, and a lot of styles.
great variety of sounds.
I'm going to buy an emperor to a friend of mine, and it's a super jazz, great tone and so easy to play., it must be great in any kind of music.

But it's the player who is versatile, not the bass.

+1

You can find players from almost all style of music playing Fender jazz or P basses, it means very simple alder body/ mpale neck with rosewood fingerboard bolt-on do the job.

Although different wood/PU/electronics combination have different sound characters, but it really depends on the fingers/picks of the players, of course is controled by brain of the players.

Just see how Jaco, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona play a wide style of music by using only single bass.

Good luck.

I can use mine for any kind of music. It's not stuck in a genre and neither am I.
