Follow-up to Hal Leonard Bass Method Series

Hi, I tried doing a search on this and the results were from 2010 so I'm curious if this info can be updated. I just finished going thru the entire Hal Leonard series with one of my students. This person is very capable and can play rock, funk & jazz very well. I currently have him on the Slap It! book by Tony Oppenheim which I think we'll get a lot out of. Which else should I be looking at?

Can he/she read music? What does it mean to play jazz very well?

Thanks. I guess it would be better to say they have an ear for jazz and can hear the chords.

Hello, I'm a month into using the Hal Leonard series and would like to know how long it took to get your student through the series? Also, what adjustments would you make if doing it over, or again with a different student? Thanks in advance.
